Name: Farm to Barrel Heirloom Pumpkin by Almanac Beer Co.
Origin: San Jose, CA
ABV: 12%
Description: So this is a barleywine style ale brewed with pumpkins and aged in rye and brandy barrels. It has a strong rye and brandy scent with a hint of pumpkin. At 12% abv and $14.29 from my local specialty market, it packs a punch in alcohol content and in price. All of the elements sound amazing (roasted heirloom pumpkins, aged in brandy barrels, yadda yadda) but besides being fairly certain that I will be getting drunk, I am not blown away. It has the most complex flavor of all the beers I've tried.
